Sprint opens Internet data center in Atlanta

October 18, 2001 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Sprint Corp. (www.sprint.com) announced that it is expanding its services to the Peach State by opening another Sprint E|Solutions Internet Center in Atlanta, Ga.
The 100,000-square-foot Internet center will be the seventh Sprint
E|Solutions has opened across the country. Pre-selling for the Atlanta
center has begun and the state-of-the-art facility is available for
customer occupancy today. A grand opening event is scheduled for Nov. 16,
2001.
The Atlanta Internet center will offer Sprint's customers application and
Web-hosting support, collocation, monitoring and reporting performance,
and IT professional services. Sprint E|Solutions also provides managed
services for customers, including Business Continuity Planning, security,
Internet VPN, and Mobile Computing Solutions.

enjoy these advantages as well as Sprint's expertise in managed and Web

The Atlanta Sprint E|Solutions Internet center sits directly on Sprint's
high-speed, fiber-optic Tier 1 IP backbone, enabling performance with
unsurpassed reliability needed for mission-critical applications. In
addition, Sprint's comprehensive support provides a variety of
managed-server applications and transport services, all backed by
award-winning customer service.
The Atlanta Internet center features a secure and reliable physical
environment to safeguard the data that is at the heart of every business.
This world-class facility is custom designed with raised floors, HVAC
temperature-control systems and private, locked cabinets and cages. In
addition, the Internet data center offers the widest range of physical
security features, including smoke detection and fire suppression systems,
in-facility security personnel, and 24x7 secured access system that, as
well as video surveillance and security breach alarms.
Sprint has previously stated its plans to expand its Internet data center
capacity through year-end 2002. The Atlanta facility joins other
operational Sprint E|Solutions Internet Centers in New York City, Boston,
Dallas, Kansas City, Reston, Va., and Sacramento, Calif. Additional
centers planned for opening in 2001 include Denver, Los Angeles and San
Jose, Calif.
Currently, Sprint manages more than 1.5 million square feet of hosting
space.
