Sprint Provides Auction House Network

July 19, 2002 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Communications firm Sprint (Sprint.com) announced this week that it has signed a multi-year service agreement with international auction house Phillips de Pury & Luxembourg, which specializes in selling impressionist, modern and contemporary art.

The agreement, says Sprint, will include the delivery of a range of communication services, including the management of a custom auction application to help the company move merchandise more effectively.

Sprint will integrate Phillips? European and North American operations into one seamless virtual network able to manage multi-million dollar transactions from around the world, supplying IT infrastructure management, managed hosting, security management, domestic and international IP VPN, voice VPN and wireless services.

“We needed a single source provider that offered highly secure communications services,” said Patrick J. Meehan, chief technology officer, Phillips de Pury & Luxembourg. “In Sprint we found a financially sound company that could provide, manage and maintain the entire network at a very competitive cost.”
