October 2, 2002 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting automation and management software developer Sphera Corporation (Sphera.com) announced on Wednesday that it has appointed Equinix president and COO Philip Koen to its board of directors.

Sphera says Koen?s experience with Equinix in the Internet exchange and infrastructure market will be an asset to Sphera, which markets its automation and management solutions to leading web hosting providers and Internet data centers.

Before Joining Equinix, Koen was president and CEO of Internet news and information service PointCast Inc. Prior to that, Koen was VP of Finance and chief financial officer of Etec Systems Inc.
