(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Open source email and groupware provider Open-Xchange (www.open-xchange.com) announced on Wednesday that it has partnered with web host Acens (www.acens.com) to provide its solutions to the Spanish hosting market.
A month ago Open-Xchange partnered with cPanel to integrate its communication tools into the control panel.
According to the press release, Acens will replace its Atmail-based webmail system with Open-Xchange. This will provide its 300,000 email accounts with the full webmail, mobility and collaboration capabilities of Open-Xchange.
“Acens customers will be able to boost their individual productivity with Open-Xchange in the center of their online communication,” José Cerdán Ibáñez, CEO, Acens said in a statement. “They will see how Open-Xchange helps to efficiently manage calendars, contacts and messages from different email accounts, as well as social networks, from a single application.”
Open-Xchange is a cloud-based system that integrates email, calendar, contact and task management with advanced groupware features.
It also features mobile capabilities that allow users to receive push email and synchronization of contacts calendars on their phones.
”Acens will provide its customer base with Open-Xchange´s full-featured Mobile WebApp and collaboration capabilities free of charge for an initial trial period,” Rafael Laguna, CEO of Open-Xchange stated. “We love that approach as we are convinced that this innovative move gives Acens a real competitive advantage against other cloud offerings such as Microsoft Office 365 or Google Apps.”
