Spam 75 Percent of Email, Says Postini

While the percentage of spam has increased, says Postini, the company recorded that sexually explicit email has been reduced by 78 percent since January, accounting for just 0.8 percent of email in September.

In September, says Postini, the company processed more than 5.6 billion messages, and stopped close to 79 million virus instances from entering corporate networks.

The company says it blocked more than 50 percent of the 12 billion email connection attempts it processed based on sender behavior and without having to read the message content.
