SpaceAsia Launches VPS Hosting

July 18, 2007 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Asian Web hosting provider SpaceAsia (spaceasia.com) announced on Wednesday that it has launched a line of virtual private server solutions for business customers in China and surrounding Asian countries, based on SWsoft’s (swsoft.com) Virtuozzo software.

The new services are hosted on Linux servers with a choice of CentOS4.2, Fedora Core 5, openSuSE 10.1 or Debian 4.0 operating systems. The plans are currently available in three configurations, ranging from $25 to $100 per month. Each plan includes daily data backups, 24-hour network monitoring and a 99.5 percent uptime guarantee.

“There is a strong demand for hosting and IT services for the Asian market as a whole,” says Kai Kromat, CEO of SpaceAsia. “So much of the worldwide hosting market is based in the United States, and for Asian businesses, this presents a distinct geographic disadvantage. By offering these competitively priced, robust virtual private server plans, we hope to continue our growth in this emerging market. We have been successful over the past two years in serving these customers with our existing array of Web solutions.”

The company says its data center is located in Hong Kong, and has connectivity to HKIX, AGC, UUNET, Global One and Teleglobe.
