Sonasoft Updates Solution Offering October 13, 2006 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Backup and recovery software developer Sonasoft (sonasoft.com) announced on Thursday it has launched the new version of its recovery solution for Microsoft Exchange Server, SonaSafe for Exchange Server. Sonasoft says the SonaSafe application maintains a redundant standby server by continually updating the data with that retrieved from the primary system. The standby system can take over instantly in the event of primary system failure. The release contains new features including dynamic mailbox backups, enhanced replication and recovery capability. Sonasoft says the solution has the ability to archive mailboxes, facilitate migration of Exchange servers from one version to another and balance load by distributing mailboxes across multiple Exchange servers. It also meets regulatory compliance requirements like Sarbanes Oxley and HIPAA. ”With the increasing importance of Microsoft Exchange Server as a platform for messaging and collaboration and government laws regarding data access, it’s imposing a big challenge on IT administrators to keep and retrieve emails on a more frequent basis and at the same time make Exchange Server available around-the-clock,” says Bilal Ahmed, CTO and VP of engineering at Sonasoft. “Sonasoft’s SonaSafe solution helps IT in achieving those goals in a manner where either the whole information store or a single email is recovered with the click of a mouse.”
