April 12, 2007 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Backup and recovery process solution provider Sonasoft (sonasoft.com) announced on Wednesday the availability of the new version of its SonaSafe solution, which provides disaster recovery and high availability for VMware and Microsoft virtual systems.
Sonasoft says its SonaSafe solution supports several scenarios to protect the virtual servers both at primary and disaster recovery sites. Customers can have multiple physical servers at the primary location and at one physical server with multiple virtual servers at the offsite disaster recovery location. Also, multiple virtual servers from the primary site can be easily backed up and replicated to the disaster recovery site, says the company.
In addition, Sonasoft provides application specific protection for Microsoft SQL and Exchange servers. The company says the replication is performed at a database and mailbox level, which provides granular level protection for virtual systems.
Sonasoft also recently announced the availability of its new version of SonaSafe for Windows File Systems.
