Hosting software provider Ensim Corporation announced on Tuesday that its Ensim Unify Service Provider Edition now offers full support for Microsoft Lync in multi-tenant environments. Lync offers messaging, presence, web and video conferencing, and telephony.

Ensim says that web hosts using its Lync Hosting Pack can support small or large deployments in multi-tenant mode or can dedicated a single server to an organization and allow custom SIP integration for each organization.

On Wednesday in a presentation at World Hosting Days, cloud services distributor LuxCloud launched its Hosted365 for service providers, and said it would include support for Microsoft Lync in its next release.

For web hosting providers that offer Microsoft Exchange and SharePoint, Lync can be a good upsell or bundled value-add. Recently, Intermedia announced that it is offering Microsoft’s Office 365 to its direct customers and web hosting resellers.

Ensim’s service provider edition is a platform and control panel for service providers and manages the creation, activation, configuration, and administration of an entire hosted application and cloud service offering.

“Microsoft Lync is a key component of our customers’ unified communications strategies and has the potential to offer significant cost savings for small and medium businesses as well as enterprises, however, most service providers struggle with the complexity of provisioning and managing this complex application and incorporating it into a complete UC solution,” David Wippich, CEO of Ensim said in a statement. “The latest enhancements to Ensim Unify Service Provider Edition help our customers lower the cost of implementation while providing them with numerous policy based secure deployment options.”

According to the press release, Ensim Unify currently manages the largest OCS implementation in North America with more than 230,000 users.

Ensim will be at the Microsoft Hosting Summit from March 27 – March 29 in Bellevue, WA.
