SoftLayer Shares 2007 Achievements

February 14, 2008 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider SoftLayer (softlayer.com) announced on Thursday that it has closed its second year of operations, with record growth that accelerated month over month throughout the entire year.

The company saw $33 million in revenues in 2007, up from $13 million in 2006. SoftLayer also saw a 155 percent growth in its customer base with a 25 percent growth in revenue per customer and it now manages over 11,000 servers.

The hosting provider also released new products and solutions in 2007 including the SoftLayer API, StorageLayer, a robust load-balancing solution and the opening of a second data center.

“2007 was a great year across all operating metrics for the company,” says Lance Crosby, CEO of SoftLayer. “We outperformed our most aggressive plan in customer growth, product development and key financial metrics. The momentum of 2007 and the strong demand for our services on a global basis, has clearly carried forward into 2008. January was a record month for customer acquisition and server sales reaching 1300 units.”

SoftLayer recently expanded its network-within-the-network topology by connecting its Dallas, Texas and Seattle, Washington data centers with a dedicated 10GB fiber link.
