June 9, 2008 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Internet solutions provider Sitestar (sitestar.com) announced on Monday it has acquired the dial-up and hosting customers as well as other assets of Oklahoma-based Internet service provider, AdaNet (adacomp.net).
AdaNet says it offers 56K dial-up modem access and 128K service through Multilink/PPP, email and web hosting for business and home. The press release did not specify the size of AdaNet’s customer base.
This deal marks the fifth in a series of similar customer acquisitions for Sitestar this year, following last November’s record purchase from MobilePro of nearly 40,000 subscribers sold and marketed under the Nationwide Internet, InReach Internet and DFW Internet brands.
In 2008, Sitestar has also acquired the customer bases of USA Telephone, N2 The Net, Dial Assurance and Comcation.
Founded in 1999, the Lynchburg, Virginia-based Sitestar provides a range of Internet services, including residential, business and wholesale Internet access, web hosting and value-added products and services to residential and commercial customers through its different brands.
Sitestar says the AdaNet acquisition enables the company to leverage recently-acquired wholesale dial-up provider Dial Assurance to “deliver service and maximize margins.”
“AdaNet not only expands our high-margin dial-up and hosting customer bases,” says Sitestar CEO Frank R. Erhartic, Jr, “but, more importantly, enables us to cross-pollinate our retail and wholesale service lines whereby we can generate revenue for Dial Assurance while simultaneously controlling operating expenses.”
As with other its other acquisitions, Sitestar says that AdaNet customers will see a seamless transition and benefits from a “large, nationwide ISP including advanced spam filtering, extremely reliable network uptime and extended support hours plus friendly, personal service and support.”
