The company says its rapid customer growth over the last year can mainly be attributed to referrals, as many clients recommend the hosting provider to friends and site visitors. The free hosting program seeks to reward existing customers with months of free hosting for every new customer they send.
“We saw that many of our clients refer new customers without expecting anything in return, just because they like our hosting,” says Lilyana Yakimova, SiteGround’s marketing manager. “We thought we may start rewarding them and stimulate them further to recommend our services. That’s how we came up with the free hosting program.”
SiteGround the tools needed for easy referral and precise tracking of referrals, providing banners and text links for customers to place on their Web sites. Customers looking to participate in the program are each provided with a unique referral link that enables SiteGround to record and report referrals.
