SiteGround Adds Custom cPanel Features

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Guided by users’ suggestions, web hosting provider SiteGround (www.siteground.com) launched new features for its customized cPanel (www.cpanel.net) theme, “Crystal,” including multiple languages and an “important notices” section, as well as full and partial backups.

Since launching Crystal at the beginning of March, SiteGround been receiving feedback from customers on what features they would like to see embedded in Crystal, according to SiteGround’s Thursday announcement. Due to a flood of response from SiteGround’s large international customer community, within a matter of weeks, SiteGround translated its customized theme into 11 languages and is working on adding five more language options.

“We received lots of suggestions and feedback from our customers through Facebook, Twitter, our forum and our blog,” SiteGround marketing specialist Radostina Kesova said in a statement. “All we had to do was listen to what users need and make it happen as soon as possible. It is just great that we have the opportunity to talk to our clients, discuss their ideas and add value to their Crystal experience.”

At users’ request, SiteGround’s development team produced a custom backup script that let customers backup their whole accounts, databases or just email filters and forwarders. Since last week, customers have been able to make instant full or partial backups using cPanel for free. The script was also specifically designed to save resources and not overload the servers, unlike other backup solutions.

SiteGround also upgraded the cPanel “Notices” section to ensure uninterrupted email services by displaying alerts when any email account goes beyond the email quota. It also offers guidelines on how to optimize that particular inbox to maximize uptime.
