SingleHop Posts Huge 2008 Growth Numbers

WHIR TV talks to Dan Ushman, vice president of SingleHop at HostingCon 2008.

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Managed dedicated hosting provider SingleHop (www.singlehop.com) announced on Friday it has achieved significant revenue and client-base growth, resulting in a 673 percent increase in gross revenues when compared to 2007.

The company entered 2009 with an annual recurring revenue of more than $4.5 million, more than 800 individual customers in over 40 countries, more than 1,500 servers deployed and in production and GAAP profitability achieved in the third quarter of 2008.

According to SingleHop president and CEO Zak Boca, many factors contributed to the company’s growth.

One of the greatest factors is its transparent á la Carte managed services offerings. Boca says the cost-effective solution enables customers to “pay only for the managed services that they require, rather than a bundle of services.”

The à la Carte Server Management Program offers a range of transparent management services that were designed and tested to enable business customers to customize their level of support to fit their needs.

In August 2008 SingleHop began turning a profit, which the company says is based on investments made in automated systems, power-efficient servers and naturally occurring organic growth.

“In addition to the investments made in technology, we’ve benefited a great deal from organic growth, which tells us that we’re providing clients with what they are looking for in a service provider,” says Dan Ushman, vice president of SingleHop. “This in turn reduced our marketing costs and allowed us to further invest in our technology and infrastructure. People like SingleHop because we listen to them and respond. Many of our initiatives begin with customer requests, such as the account executive assigned to each client, and IPensure — our automated server provisioning system’s IP auto-scrubbing process.”

The company developed and deployed many new technologies in 2008, including LEAP webtop, the company’s browser-based dedicated server interface, and advanced automatic server provisioning.

WHIR TV interviewed Ushman at HostingCon 2008, where he discussed aboutLEAP, the company’s browser-based dedicated server interface.

This year SingleHop plans to deploy SingleHop.mobi, an iPhone application for server management, LEAP Developer API, and open a new data center facility.

Founded by Boca and Ushman in 2006, SingleHop provides managed dedicated hosting to thousands of websites worldwide.
