(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Secure sockets layer Certificate Authority and partner program provider GlobalSign (www.globalsign.com) has announced a new partnership with Chicago-based hosting provider SingleHop (www.singlehop.com), letting its customers secure their website transactions, login pages, webmail, servers, and connections using GlobalSign’s highly trusted 2048-bit SSL technology.
Also, according to the Monday announcement, the new partnership will let SingleHop offer clients the ability to seamlessly purchase and manage GlobalSign’s products directly from SingleHop’s proprietary server management suite, LEAP, which spans desktop, WebTop and mobile options, making it one of the top server control suites in the industry.
“We are very excited SingleHop has chosen to switch to GlobalSign to take advantage of our SSL program and the opportunities it offers,” GlobalSign sales vice president John Murray said in a statement. “Like our many other partners, SingleHop can provide their customers with the most future proof SSL Certificates on the Internet and instantly gain a competitive advantage with GlobalSign’s array of SSL solutions tied into their current offerings.”
Focused on providing cost-effective dedicated servers, SingleHop hosts thousands of websites around the world. SingleHop’s hosting services and solutions are provided via an innovative à la carte program that allows customers to tailor packages to meet their individual needs and support levels.
As a current provider of SSL Certificates, SingleHop made the decision to switch to GlobalSign’s Partner Program from another SSL provider due to GlobalSign’s simplified, high-value, feature-packed SSL product range, comprehensive tools available to successfully resell SSL, and overall expertise in the channel market.
SingleHop communications VP Dan Salcedo said that GlobalSign provides the most advanced, efficient, and adaptable platform for purchasing and maintaining security certificates. “While our customers have a broad range of security needs, they have also come to expect tremendous levels of control from us,” he said in a statement. “That is why, when it came to choosing a provider for security products, we felt aligned to and supported by GlobalSign as our clients would not just have a broad range of cost-effective security offerings to choose from, but could quickly and efficiently manage them in LEAP, SingleHop’s familiar and trusted platform.”
SingleHop will offer GlobalSign’s range of SSL certificates including fast issuance domain validated SSL, traditional organization validated SSL, and extended validation SSL, the newly standardized SSL which activates the green address bar interface in IE, Firefox, Opera, Chrome, and Safari browsers. All GlobalSign SSL certificates are inclusive of Server Gated Cryptography, which steps up weak browser encryption to strong encryption on older browsers, and are issued from the widely distributed 2048 bit GlobalSign Root CA Certificate.
GlobalSign’s range of SSL certificates are the latest addition to SingleHop’s service offerings. Last week, SingleHop added rebootless kernel update technology, which lets users install critical security patches without having to restart, quickly protecting clients against security breaches.
