SingleHop Launches New Hosting Offer

October 27, 2006 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider SingleHop (singlehop.com) announced on Thursday it has launched what it refers to as, a fully transparent managed service offering on dedicated servers.

SingleHop explains that transparent managed services include a breakdown of specific products supported at each service level. Managed services, provided a-la-carte, range from bundled offerings that cover standard services such as SMTP, IMAP, DNS and Apache to firewalls, backups, monitoring and security upgrades.

SingleHop says that for the first time, business customers will be able to tailor their level of support to their needs and expertise, instead of being pigeonholed into fixed fee trouble tickets or tiered services support.

“Until today most hosting providers offered very few options in managed services. Consumers either opted for pay as you go trouble tickets, which added up very quickly or for tiered support, which is like paying for a tune up when you need an oil change,” says Zak Boca, president of SingleHop. “We’re throwing that model out the window and allowing our customers to purchase exactly what they need on a service by service basis.”
