SingleHop Launches 1GB Private Network

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Managed web hosting provider SingleHop (www.singlehop.com) has launched its Private Network, offering customers inter-server, non-public network connectivity at speeds of up to 1Gbps, all within a fully secured environment.

According to SingleHop’s Wednesday announcement, the servers can also transfer data using Jumbo frames with packets of up to 9,000 bytes in size, which are significantly faster than traditional Ethernet frames. This helps users because they can quickly transfer files within SingleHop’s network.

“With this new private network, clients can backup information, synchronize data amongst their servers, and do it all inside of a secure network with unlimited bandwidth and incredible speed,” SingleHop operations vice president Andy Pace said in a statement. “By using the private network, none of the clients metered bandwidth is used, freeing it up for other purposes.”

SingleHop’s secure private network was built to meet the growing needs many of its dynamic customers that have grown in the past few years, according to SingleHop communications VP Daniel Salcedo. “Because of this,” Salcedo said in a statement, “we wanted to provide these customers with a high-level solution that allows them to lower their transfer costs, increase their performance, and boost their security. We want to continue evolving so our clients, no matter the size, can count on a great set of solutions that can power their future growth.”
