February 21, 2005 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider Silicon House (siliconhouse.net),based in India, announced last week that it was named a fullyaccredited registrar for the .in domain, joining six other companiesrecently appointed as .in registrars by the National Internet Exchangeof India.
The company opened .in for registration on February 16, acquiring 500 customers on the first day alone.
Silicon House said it would offerdiscounted .IN registrations for readers of the Web Host IndustryReview. The .in domain will be available for $15.50, while .co.in,.net.in, .org.in, .firm.in, .gen.in and .ind.in will be available for$6.99.
The company said it hopes to register 50,000 domains in the next year.
