Sibername Preps for Second .EU Rush

May 31, 2006 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Domain name registrar Sibername (sibername.com) announced on Wednesday that the company is prepared for the second round of .eu domain land rush applications.

The company said it was successful in the original land rush period, registering approximately 5,000 .eu domains.

According to Sibername, the .eu governing body EURid (eurid.eu) has announced a second land rush period will begin June 7, with the release of domains unsuccessfully applied for during the domain’s sunrise period.

The names to be released will include all the expired domain names, and all those for which the last application in the queue was rejected 45 days prior to May 24. Names subject to ADR hearings will not be released. EURid will publish the dates for the release of names in the sunrise WHOIS database.
