(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — File sharing tools provider ShareFile (www.sharefile.com) recently announced it has opened its first EU data center in Ireland to serve its European customers.
The data center will benefit customers of ShareFile located outside North America, allowing them to upload and download files more quickly.
ShareFile says the new data center meets the compliance requirements of EU personal data protection act.
“Establishing a data center outside of North America enables ShareFile to give European clients faster download speeds,” says Jesse Lipson, CEO of ShareFile. “We’ve always been an international company and now we can provide an even better level of service to businesses in the EU and outside of North America.”
The new data center features surplus power sources in the event of natural disasters and to provide easy access to data.
In order to protect data and prevent any potential data loss, ShareFile has installed its mirror servers in different locations for routine mirroring of data in real-time.
The company has also deployed backup of system data at regular intervals.
