SGS Deploys Equant Messaging

September 16, 2004 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Communications infrastructure company Equant (equant.com) announced on Thursday that it has signed a three-year contract with SGS, a verification, testing and certification provider, to implement, host and manage a worldwide messaging system.

The contract, signed in partnership with Microsoft, supports Equant’s strategy of developing customized and integrated communications services. Equant says it delivers managed messaging solutions to more than 800,000 worldwide corporate users.

Before turning to Equant, SGS, headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, had a legacy messaging system based on servers deployed worldwide. Equant says it responded to SGS’ request for a review of its messaging system, and recommended alternative options based on the future business needs of SGS.

After careful evaluation, SGS selected Equant to provide a fully centralized managed messaging solution based on Microsoft Exchange Server 2003. The new SGS messaging system offers a state of the art, cost effective and scalable solution.
