Christian Dawson, ServInt's chief operating officer.
(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Managed hosting provider ServInt (www.servint.com) announced on Monday it has promoted Christian Dawson, formerly the company’s vice president of operations, to the new position of chief operating officer.
In this position, Dawson will be responsible for the overall management of ServInt’s business operations, including sales, marketing, business development and customer support.
The company has recently gone to considerable lengths in building its team, including last week expansion of its technical support staff with the formation of the ServInt Managed Services Team.
Last month, it named Eric Morales the company’s business intelligence manager.
Dawson first joined ServInt in 1998 and has served as the company’s vice president of operations since 2006.
During this time, he created and introduced the ServInt Green Hosting Initiative, which has since invested millions of dollars in energy-efficient computer hardware, reforestation programs and environmentally sound equipment-disposal and recycling programs.
“Christian has been a driving force behind the growth of ServInt since he joined the company 11 years ago,” says Reed Caldwell, ServInt CEO and founder. “His development of service offerings, combined with his cultivation of our public presence, have helped our company increase its market share every year. We expect his dedication, strong work ethic and vast knowledge of the industry will help us continue to grow our business in the coming years.”
In addition to his role at ServInt, Dawson has served as a board member of the US Internet Industry Association, and chair of its Hosting Council, since 2004. He is also a frequent speaker at web hosting industry conferences.
