Web hosting provider ServInt announced on Wednesday that it has launched a new ordering system that specifically caters to the needs of its hosting reseller community.

Custom Shop allows resellers to pre-fill ordering pages for the servers they typically purchase for resale – including hardware configurations, software packages and add-ons. Once resellers need to expand server capacity, they click on the saved configuration they wish to clone and hit the order button.

This ordering system will help ServInt target the companies in the web hosting reseller community whose needs are not met by larger web hosts, it said. These resellers typically repackage and resell hosting services to smaller customers in niche markets that have specific requirements.

Developing custom tools around specific needs of customers is essential in helping them succeed, and growing the reseller channel. If it is not easy for a reseller to configure hosting packages and sell to their clients, they will look for another program better suited to their business. ServInt recognizes this, and has developed the new ordering system with its resellers in mind.

The Custom Shop ordering system is available to partners in its PowerPartners program, and allows them to send their clients links to hosting packages they configure. This makes it easier for customers to order hosting packages, and also makes it easier for resellers to get paid, according to ServInt.

“Send one order link out to all your referral customers or customize the form for each of your clients,” ServInt said on its website. “There’s no limit to the number of pre-populated ordering pages you can create.”

“Hosting resellers are absolutely vital to our business,” ServInt vice president of marketing Fritz Stolzenbach said in a statement. “They comprise a sizable portion of our current customer base and we work hard to ensure their needs are met. Now, with the introduction of the Custom Shop, we’re providing another useful tool, one that allows them to provision servers as quickly and easily as possible.”

The launch of Custom Shop comes as ServInt has launched a new line of semi-dedicated servers which offers an affordable managed hosting experience that is reliable as a dedicated server and is easy to scale and upgrade as cloud.

Custom Shop is based on ServInt’s proprietary SimpleScale virtualization software built on top of Parallels’ Virtuozzo Containers. It enables the near real-time provisioning of cloned server instances saved in the Custom Shop, giving resellers the ability to bring their own products and services to market faster and meet their inventory needs.
