Auto-scaling cloud PaaS service Jelastic now supports all PHP applications, as well as the Java apps it already runs.
Web hosting provider ServInt announced on Tuesday that its auto-scaling cloud PaaS service Jelastic now supports all PHP applications, as well as the Java apps it already runs.
ServInt is also enabling customers to rapidly deploy a selection of the most popular PHP and Java applications into the Jelastic cloud.
The move comes a month after Jelastic launched commercially in the UK and Ireland with local hosting partner Layershift.
Jelastic is a platform as a service that automatically scales any Java or PHP application and allocates server resources, with no lock-in or code changes required. In Cotober, Jelastic released version 1.8.5 of the PaaS offering.
The Jelastic PaaS platform currently supports all Java and PHP applications. ServInt will now be offering the most popular of these applications to its customers through web-based sign-up systems that allow these apps to be deployed.
The company is adding applications to the one-click deployable list on an ongoing basis, which currently includes WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, Cyclos, Xwiki, Nexus, Liferay, Magnolia, and Jenkins.
“As Jelastic’s exclusive distributor in North America, we are very excited about the addition of PHP support to Jelastic’s PaaS capabilities,” said ServInt chief operating officer Christian Dawson. “With the introduction of our easy, one-click deployment system for the most popular PHP and Java apps, it’s easier than ever to give Jelastic a try.”
For a limited time, ServInt customers can register for a two-week, free trial to test out the Jelastic cloud hosting environment.
