(servervault.com) announced on Wednesday that it had appointed John Curran to the position of vice president and chief technology officer. Curran will oversee ServerVault’s technical products, services, and infrastructure strategy and roadmap.

Curran joins ServerVault from XO Communications, where he served as chief technology officer and helped to lead the organization’s technical initiatives, network architecture, and design of innovative capabilities built into the company’s global network. During that time, Curran developed and led the company’s Internet and data strategy generating a data revenue growth of over $500M annually.

Prior to working at XO Communications, Curran served as chief technical officer at BBN / GTE Internetworking where he was responsible for the organization’s strategic technology direction. He led BBN’s technical evolution into one of the earliest ISPs and through its subsequent acquisition by GTE.
