(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Data center operator ServerCentral (www.servercentral.com) announced on Tuesday it has completed a SAS 70 Type II audit for operations at all of its data centers.
The company recently added data center space in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, signing a long-term lease for 10,000 square feet of raised floor space out of DuPont Fabros Technology’s data center.
To complete the Statement on Auditing Standards 70 audit, ServerCentral submitted information about its strict controls over customer data and related processes.
Issued by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the auditing standard demonstrates that ServerCentral has adequate controls and processes in place.
Once the SAS 70 examination is completed, a formal report, including the auditor’s opinion, is issued to the organization.
Verizon Business, Nirvanix, and CRG West all recently completed the SAS 70 Type II audit for their own data centers.
The company also provided independent auditors access to the company’s data centers, network services operations, systems and control procedures.
Additionally, the Type II audit examined ServerCentral’s controls over a six-month period.
“ServerCentral can better serve financial, healthcare, government and other organizations that are required to substantiate adequate oversight of their service providers,” says Jordan Lowe, CEO of ServerCentral. “It also reinforces ServerCentral’s position among the world’s elite data center operators, and validates to customers our willingness to take exhaustive steps to comprehensively support their business goals.”
ServerCentral provides managed data center solutions, including colocation, web hosting and disaster recovery, at data centers strategically located worldwide.
