Server Central Expands Deployments at Equinix

The company said the agreement doubles its present deployments within Equinix’s Chicago, Washington, DC area, and San Jose Internet Business Exchange (IBX) data center facilities.

Under the agreement, Server Central will continue to use Equinix to support its colocation and bandwidth services.

“Equinix provides a unique data center infrastructure and many robust Internet exchange services that enable us to more efficiently provide premium hosting, colocation and connectivity services for all layers of our customer base,” said Jordan Lowe, president of Server Central. “Equinix also allows us to situate our operations in one location near our key business partners, including the largest names in the Internet.”

Server Central added that access to the large number of service providers in Equinix’s Internet hubs helps it to reduce connectivity costs and enhance performance.

Server Central said it is also using the Equinix Direct service to sell IP transit services to companies operating in the Washington, DC area and San Jose centers. Equinix Direct gives bandwidth sellers a new channel to purchase low-cost bandwidth.
