Sedo Partners with DomainsBot

May 22, 2007 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Sedo (sedo.com), an online marketplace for the buying and selling of domain names, announced on Monday it has signed a strategic partnership with domain semantic search engine DomainsBot (domainsbot.com).

With the new partnership, a visitor searching for a domain name on a registrar or Web hosting company’s site that is integrated the DomainsBot suggestion tool can now find search results of quality, related domain names that are available to register, as well as domain names that are for sale on Sedo’s secondary market.

“This partnership provides an enormous amount of value to service providers by increasing the domain registration rate while adding a new revenue stream without additional costs,” says Mark Klein, Sedo’s director of business development. “The tool itself adds tremendous value to the customer experience by making it increasingly easy for people to find a domain name that fits their needs.”

When a Web host or registrar integrates and displays the Sedo portion of the domain suggestion tool to its users, Sedo will pay the costs that would typically have to be paid to Domainsbot for the queries executed. It will also pay the service provider commissions of any transactions channelled through Sedo.
