Security provider HostingArmor (www.hostingarmor.com) announced on Monday that it has released its server security scanning plugin for cPanel.
According to the security-as-a-service provider, HostingArmor is a “highly-customized server security scanning system” that is based on the commercial Nessus feed.
HostingArmor says that the system allows users to add targets to scan. Users can also customize the frequency of security analysis reports and view results via PDF or web interface.
Reports can be sorted by various filters such as security level, data, specific target, target groups and more.
HostingArmor says that with the cPanel plugin it can reach the web hosting resale market.
“We want to make it as easy as possible for web hosts to provide access to scan reports for their clients,” HostingArmor co-founder Josh Ewin said in a statement.
HostingArmor launched the free version of its plug and play security scanner last year.
The company says resellers can white label the HostingArmor interface and security seal as well as tie in their own applications through HostingArmor’s API.
According to the press release, using HostingArmor’s API key, web hosts can provide their end users with access to the service through the cPanel interface.
The user enters a key into a domain he wishes to scan and the security scan begins. If the admin allows the end user to enter an email address, the client can receive a PDF report at that email address when the scan completes. With the HostingArmor cPanel plugin comes a website security scan seal. End users can display this seal on their website to increase customer confidence, HostingArmor says.
With no contract, the plans start at $14.99 per month for 35 scans. The most popular plan, “Security”, provides 100 scans per month for $39.99. HostingArmor says it offers aggressive volume-based discounts for resellers.
