IT security and compliance solutions provider Trustwave (www.trustwave.com) announced Tuesday it has named John Yeo director of SpiderLabs for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
SpiderLabs, the advanced security team within Trustwave, is in charge of application security, incident response, penetration testing, physical security and research.
“John has extensive experience and a strong understanding of thetechnical security challenges faced by our SpiderLabs’ customers,” said Andy Bokor, executive director of Trustwave EMEA and Asian-Pacific. “We’re excited to have him leading our strategic development and growth, and providing our customers with the knowledge required to enhance data privacy.”
In this position, Yeo will be responsible for managing SpiderLabs EMEA. As a security advisor to Trustwave’s clients, he will help build customized security programs.
Yeo has experience in information security, with a specialty in information protection and assurance, security testing and digital forensics.
Prior to this appointment, Yeo was country lead for Verizon Business’s Threat and Vulnerability Management Practice for the UK and Ireland. Before that, he was a senior security consultant focusing in network and Web application penetration testing with clients in financial institutions, retail, gaming and telecommunications.

Yeo is a Chartered Professional member of the British Computer Society and is one of a hundred people in the UK certified to lead security assessments of the Queen’s government information system deployments as part of the Computer and Electronic Surveillance Group (CESG), the information assurance arm of the Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ).
He is a member of Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) where he has a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) status.
This announcement comes two weeks after Trustwave made upgrades to its WebDefend web application firewall.
