(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Information security and compliance solutions provider Trustwave (www.trustwave.com) announced on Tuesday that it has released its cloud-based file integrity monitoring solution.

According to the press release, Trustwave’s FIM checks for additions, modifications, or deletions of sensitive files or other data. It can inform business owners of unauthorized system access and the potential presence of malware.

Trustwave says deploying FIM can help organizations lessen the risk of malicious activity to avoid a data breach.

The new solution is configured and monitored by Trustwave with no hardware or management console to deploy making it ideal for companies of any size, according to Trustwave.

“This solution is the most cost effective way for customers to get these critical security controls in place and address compliance requirements at the same time,” Robert J. McCullen, chairman, president and CEO of Trustwave said in a statement. “At the seemingly unending assortment of cyberattacks, FIM is an essential tool for early detection of a potential breach.”

According to Trustwave, FIM provides an audit trail of what files were changed, added or deleted, to help companies track any modifications made outside of regularly scheduled change or maintenance.

FIM can be used with other host monitoring tools including SIEM and anti-virus solutions while also helping to meet specific compliance needs including PCI DSS.
