(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — IT security solutions provider SecludIT (www.secludit.com) announced on Wednesday it has partnered with Amazon to release Elastic Detector for Amazon EC2 (aws.amazon.com/ec), a fully automated security event detection tool for Amazon EC2.

The SaaS-based security tool helps administrators and users of Amazon EC2-based infrastructures to continuously detect flaws on security groups and applications, significantly reducing the risk of external and internal attacks with no management overhead.

Dynamic infrastructures, as opposed to classic static ones, rise the risk of external and internal attacks and increase the cost of security administration, due to manual management of the continuously changing security perimeter of the elastic set of servers.

Elastic Detector for Amazon EC2 is built on SecludIT Elastic Security patent pending technology, which automatically builds and adapts security perimeters so that the infrastructure is always protected.

The tool uses a feature called Auto-Checks, which sets the right security checks and corresponding alerts.

Unlike other security and monitoring tools, where administrators have to setup checks and alerts for each server, Elastic Detector for Amazon EC2 auto-detects servers and automatically sets the checks and alerts.

The administrator can choose to fine tune the checks and alerts to respond to specific needs but as long as the infrastructure keeps evolving, Elastic Detector for Amazon EC2 keeps up with the security through the Auto-Checks.

The security tool ensures that administrators are alerted first whenever there is an important problem.

“We are very proud of releasing today the very first product based on our innovative Auto-Checks technology,” says Sergio Loureiro, CEO of SecludIT. “The first feedback we got are very positive, and Elastic Detector is only at the beginning of what we can do. We are working hard on our product roadmap.”

Following its private beta test period from December to the end of last month, Elastic Detector is now available for Amazon EC2 and it will be extended to support other cloud providers.
