(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Cloud security services provider Alert Logic (www.alertlogic.com) announced on Wednesday that it has launched its Cloud Acceleration Partner Program for technology partners to deliver security solutions as fully-managed security services.

This launch comes a few weeks after Alert Logic expanded its PCI DSS compliance and receritified as an Approved Scanning Vendor.

Alert Logic’s own solutions help organizations address security compliance, scan customer networks and archive log data for audit review.

According to Alert Logic, participation in its CAPP allows security solution providers to offer their products as cloud-based SaaS solutions.

One of the CAPP partners, security risk intelligence solutions provider Rapid7, has partnered with Alert Logic to deliver vulnerability management. This will enable PCI Approved Scanning Vendor scans to be delivered as a managed service to Alert Logic’s customers.

“Delivering vulnerability management as a managed service provides users with a convenient and cost-effective way to gain critical insight into their organization’s security posture. Joining Alert Logic’s CAPP has helped Rapid7 to deliver security risk intelligence to customers in a quick and simple way, while expanding our channels to market,” Sheldon Malm, senior director of security strategy, Rapid7, said in a statement. “We look forward to continuing to work with the Alert Logic team to ensure our joint customers have world-class, fully managed vulnerability management services.”

According to the press release, CAPP partners can leverage Alert Logic’s 24 x 7 security operations center.

Alert Logic says its security-as-a-service platform provides the necessary integration capabilities and automated processes for partners to integrate their solutions.

Partners get access to provisioning, decommissioning, support integration, pricing and billing, presented to customers through a single interface, or integrated with partner self-service portals, according to Alert Logic.

“We expect CAPP to accelerate the move to the cloud by addressing lingering security concerns with a unified and comprehensive set of solutions from industry leaders – all delivered as a managed security service,” Alert Logic Vice President of emerging products, Misha Govshteyn said in a statement. “By joining CAPP, leading security providers can gain access to Alert Logic’s unique core competencies: our ability to offer their product as a fully managed service from the cloud, and our leading channel of cloud and hosting service provider partners, including more than half of the top 30 service providers in North America.”

Alert Logic says it will evaluate and integrate all CAPP partner security solutions with its suite of security-as-a-service offerings.

The company claims its Alert Logic Threat Manager, Log Manager and its managed security services, ActiveWatch and LogReview, are used by more than 1,500 customers worldwide.
