May 10, 2005 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- With the success of search engine giants Google and Yahoo! generating significant advertising revenues, pay per click search advertising has quickly become an essential catalyst in building Web site traffic.
Despite its significance among seasoned online operators, many newcomers attempting to establish their presences online are unaware of the potential of PPC marketing, and inadvertently miss out on valuable opportunities to draw higher traffic to their sites.
PPC search engine operator Searchfeed.com (searchfeed.com) is working to change all of that by partnering with Web site builder CityMax (citymax.com). According to SearchFeed, the partnership will provide customers Web hosting packages with PPC advertising services already set in place.
"A lot of people in small to medium sized businesses aren’t familiar on how to build traffic and how to market a certain line, and by having our services available, it will help answer those basic questions," says Rachel Lyubovitzky, Searchfeed.com’s director of operations.
Lyubovitzky says both new and existing CityMax customers can take advantage of Searchfeed.com’s PPC search advertising service, and soon find their own company in the ranks of search engine results.
"Hosting companies are in a unique position," she says, "in being the first one to have that contact with an advertiser. Many of them will take advantage of that, partnering with online advertisers such as pay-per-click search engines and general search engines - trying to further solidify the relationship they have with their advertiser."
SearchFeed says the partnership is about more than simply adding to its growing clientele. The company is making a considerable effort to educate its customers about effectively using PPC search advertising.
"[For] anyone who comes to us through CityMax partnership," says Lyubovitzky, "we actually would invest significant resources to educate those consumers and provide some background about some online advertising in general so that, at the very least, they will emerge out of it with a feeling that they know what is going on."
Along with educating consumers, Lyubovitzky says the success of the partnership relies heavily on Searchfeed’s ability to effectively keep the lines of communication open with CityMax, a dynamic she asserts that the company has so far been able to maintain.
"Close communication with [CityMax] is essential to making sure the process of transferring the advertiser information [is done effectively] from the moment that the site is up on the Internet - that they’re not being left in the dark and [that] they’re being shown appropriate resources," she says. "CityMax is doing a great job of that where once an advertiser logs into a hosting account they provide a list of tools."
While the partnership with CityMax is still young, partnering with hosting companies as a means of distributing PPC search engine services is a practice that Searchfeed seems likely to explore further in the future, especially with the template already in place.
