Scalent Joins Opsware Partner Program
November 14, 2006 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Server infrastructure repurposing software provider Scalent Systems (scalent.com) announced on Tuesday it has joined Opsware’s (opsware.com) Technology Alliance Partner Program as a charter member.
The two companies will cooperate on integrating Scalent’s Virtual Operating Environment software product with Opsware’s data center automation products. Scalent V/OE enables data center administrators to make real-time moves to servers, allowing greater flexibility to drive down costs and increase failover capabilities of data center systems.
Scalent V/OE addresses the entire data center environment, enabling data center operations owners to change entire systems and topologies without altering physical infrastructure. The solution supports Linux, Solaris and Windows, and hypervisors like VMware and Xen, as well as supporting and extending the capabilities of Opsware’s data center automation technology.
“Scalent is committed to providing greater reliability, responsiveness, flexibility, and asset utilization to enterprise data centers,” says Andrew Duncan, senior VP of business development at Scalent Systems. “Part of that vision is the integration of decision making and workflow execution in an automated infrastructure environment. Our partnership with Opsware on this front will deliver even greater levels of efficiencies and cost savings to customers.”
