(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) – Software as a Service-based global trade management provider TradeBeam (www.tradebeam.com) has chosen SaaS infrastructure services provider Savvis (www.savvis.net) to provide hosting infrastructure for its solutions, which facilitate billions of dollars of trade worldwide.
According to its announcement, TradeBeam required a high-performance partner to host its enterprise-class SaaS solutions with the scalability to support its rapidly growing customer base. TradeBeam’s IT infrastructure is now colocated in one of Savvis’ 28 state-of-the-art data centers, and it meets the Statement of Auditing Standards No. 70 Type II requirements, confirming that proper procedures are in place to safeguard customers’ financial data. It also meets Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act for effective internal controls by public companies.
“Faced with considerable growth, we realized we needed to expand our IT infrastructure capacity,” TradeBeam IT vice president Nasser Mirzai said in a statement. “Savvis is an industry leader offering a global footprint of high performance SAS 70 certified data centers integrated with one of the world’s largest Tier 1 networks. Extending our SaaS service delivery model into Savvis’ data center will allow TradeBeam to focus on our core business rather than IT infrastructure.”
Savvis hosting division vice president Brad Hokamp said TradeBeam’s SaaS-delivered global trade management solutions are at the forefront of its industry. “As TradeBeam continues to grow, we look forward to building a long-term relationship as a trusted IT services provider,” Hokamp said in a statement.
The TradeBeam customer win comes just weeks after office equipment provider Ricoh Americas (www.ricoh-usa.com) chose Savvis to host its SaaS-based document management solution, DocumentMall.
Aside from customer wins, Savvis has also made plans to improve its IT infrastructure and software delivery recently.
Three weeks ago, Savvis announced plans to significantly expand its New Jersey data center complex to offer low latency connectivity to major financial exchanges in the the New York-New Jersey financial hub where demand for its services is greatest.
In June, Savvis joined Microsoft’s (www.microsoft.com) Software + Services Incubation Center Program to help independent software vendors ensure their business model and applications are ready for service-based delivery by simplifying the commercial, financial, and technical challenges they face as they build and deploy software as a service business models.
