Freiberg brings more than 15 years of experience to his new role, having held senior financial positions for both domestic and international communications service providers.
(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — As overseer of the company’s finance, legal, corporate development and investor relations, Greg Freiberg was introduced to investors at IT services provider Savvis’ (www.savvis.com) first earnings announcement since Freiberg took on the role of senior vice president and chief financial officer last week.
According to Savvis, Freiberg, who became SVP and CFO on April 20, brings more than 15 years of experience to his new role, having held senior financial positions for both domestic and international communications service providers. Most recently, Freiberg served as CFO for XO Holdings (www.xo.com), a leading nationwide provider of advanced communications services for businesses, enterprises, government, carriers and service providers.
Freiberg had the pleasure of helping announce Savvis’ “surprise” first quarter profit Wednesday, bolstered by an 18 percent rise in revenue from its data centre services division, which, within hours of trading, sent shares soaring as much as 33 percent.
Prior to his posts at SAVVIS and XO Holdings, Freiberg was SVP of finance for IP-based network solutions provider Global Crossing (www.globalcrossing.com), SVP and CFO for fiber-based communications services provider Level 3 Communications (www.level3.com), and was the founding Chief Financial Officer for MCI-WorldCom in Asia Pacific expanding the business into 12 countries.
“IT infrastructure as a service is of growing interest to enterprises globally,” Freiberg said in a statement. “I have been following Savvis for some time and believe the company is the leader in IT infrastructure solutions with its technology innovations in cloud computing; its global footprint; and passionate team. I look forward to being a part of it.”
Outgoing CFO Jeff Von Deylen will be staying with the company, concentrating his efforts on his role as senior vice president of global operations and client services.
