(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Digital office equipment provider Ricoh Americas (www.ricoh-usa.com) announced on Monday it has moved and upgraded the data center that hosts its software as a service document management solution, DocumentMall, to Savvis (www.savvis.net).
Ricoh chose to move DocumentMall to Savvis’ data center to offer customers a higher level of assurance that even the most sensitive of data is protected and safeguarded, meeting SOX requirements.
The Savvis facility, which meets Statement of Auditing Standards No. 70 Type II requirements, also provides “improved application availability and faster processing through multiple redundant utility servers at the web, application and database tiers,” according to the company.
The facility’s enhanced system monitoring ensures that DocumentMall customers will have uninterrupted service, while the increased computing capacity and a scalable architecture of the center will give Ricoh the capability to expand its service offerings.
Ricoh’s DocumentMall is a cost-effective document management solution that eliminates large upfront investments in software, hardware and IT support while helping customers improve document security, regulatory compliance and business continuity, says the company.
DocumentMall also integrates with Ricoh multifunctional devices so customers can consolidate paper and electronic documents in a secure environment.
“Savvis is one of the world’s largest providers of high performance managed hosting providing Ricoh with highly secure facilities to protect its customers’ data,” says Bryan Doerr, chief technology officer at Savvis. “We also understand that regulatory and data security concerns are of the utmost importance to organizations today so we are proud to help Ricoh provide its customers with a secure and reliable solution to manage, archive and share information.”
