October 17, 2007 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Hosted email and collaboration solutions provider (mail2world.net) announced on Monday that IT infrastructure services provider SAVVIS (savvis.net) has selected the company to host its network infrastructure at its Southern California data center.
Mail2World’s network infrastructure will feature new Cisco routers and will be jointly managed with SAVVIS. The company says it hopes the new network will further differentiate it from competitors and the upgrade will help to reduce power consumption and data center space by consolidating it to a single platform.
“SAVVIS solutions enable business-critical applications providers like Mail2World to improve the performance and security of their IT systems, lower the cost of their IT operations and become more agile by scaling their IT infrastructure up or down as business needs change,” says James Whitemore, chief marketing officer for SAVVIS. “We are delighted to have met Mail2World’s strict requirements and look forward to continuing our support for their current business and future global growth.”
Last week, SAVVIS launched virtual intelligent hosting, a highly flexible and scalable managed IT service based on SAVVIS’ hosting and network infrastructure with VMware’s third-generation virtualization software suite.
