Verio Attracts Resellers with Free Month of VPS Hosting: Companies looking to boost revenues are finding Verio's Free VPS promotion the right fit for getting started as Hosting Reseller.
December 13, 2004 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Web hosting, network and managed application services provider SAVVIS Communications (savvis.net) announced on Monday that its virtualized utility services platform has gained significant momentum across the industry.
SAVVIS's virtualized utility services platform consolidates and automates the delivery of networking and security services such as firewall, intrusion prevention and load balancing to constituencies in a data center. And under the utility computing model, services are purchased and consumed on an on demand basis. SAVVIS says companies have been migrating to virtual managed utility services in order to reduce operating costs and capital expenses while increasing business agility.
According to the company, since launching the platform in April, SAVVIS has deployed 308 virtual servers and 61.5 terabytes of virtualized storage to both new and existing customers. SAVVIS has also deployed virtual network and security services, including virtual firewalls, load balancing and SSL accelerators. The company said it plans to add server "capacity on demand" and distributed denial of service mitigation to the platform. SAVVIS also delivers virtual private network services in 47 countries.
SAVVIS has partnered with Egenera, Inkra Networks, 3PAR and Nortel Networks for its virtualized technology.
