January 17, 2003 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — E-business software solution developer SAP (SAP.com) announced on Thursday that it has launched the next step in its integration and application platform, SAP NetWeaver, which enables organizations to integrate people, information and business processes across technologies and organizations.

In addition, says SAP, the NetWeaver platform is designed to be fully interoperable with Microsoft .NET and IBM WebSphere, providing customers with the flexibility to manage heterogeneous infrastructures, minimizing complexity.

SAP says NetWeaver is the services-oriented platform for all SAP solutions, and the way SAP delivers on the company’s new applications blueprint, the Enterprise Services Architecture (ESA). SAP was one of the first companies to deliver a platform for collaborative business with mySAP, and as the latest stage of the company’s technology, NetWeaver now serves as the backbone for the SAP suite of solutions.
