February 4, 2005 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Email provider Runbox.com (runbox.com)announced on Thursday that it has introduced a new offering that allowssmall and medium-sized businesses to provide their employees withpremium email under their own domain. Businesses can now provide theiremployees with nearly unlimited online storage space for their emailand files, as well as flexibility of emailing on any email protocol.
Large email providers like Gmail,Hotmail, and Yahoo Mail have all recently introduced premium emailservices by significantly increasing online email storage and newfeatures. One or 2 gigabytes of online storage is the current industrystandard for premium email services.
“If your email account doesn’t give youat least 1G online disk space, file storage option, and support for anyemail protocol and device then you don’t have a premium email accounttoday,” says Hans Lysglimt, Runbox.com founder and CEO.
While many small and mid-size businesseshave not yet moved to dedicated premium email services, email providerssuch as Microsoft Hotmail, Outlook, Microsoft Exchange and AOL mailenforce technical limitations to prevent the use of rival emailservices.
