July 28, 2003 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — According to reports, David Rockefeller has received a subpoena from the U.S. securities and exchange commission (SEC) relating to his role as a director with bankrupt telco carrier Metromedia Fiber Network Inc (mfn.com).
Rockefeller served as Metromedia Fiber Network chairman from 1997 until February 2001. The company filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in May 2002.
According to filings with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in White Plains, N.Y., Rockefeller, former chairman of Chase Manhattan Bank, received the subpoena on April 14. He has reportedly been subpoenaed to supply documents related to an SEC investigation of the company.
