Reliam Integrates R1Soft CDP for More Comprehensive Managed Backup Service

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Complex application hosting and Internet Application Management provider Reliam, (www.reliam.com) has made R1Soft (www.r1soft.com) Continuous Data Protection software technology available to its customers, providing a more complete backup service with an extensive selection of data retention capabilities.

According to R1Soft’s Thursday announcement, Reliam has integrated the new CDP backup technology with its current fully-managed backup service, bringing clients bare-metal restore capabilities, a broader set of Windows backup features, and MySQL database protection.

“R1Soft’s CDP solution allows us to architect our own backend storage solution which offers flexibility, increased cost savings, and ease of future scalability in the long term as our storage needs grow,” Reliam chief executive officer Nate Johnson said in a statement.

R1Soft’s Bare-Metal Restore feature enables Reliam to recover from possible full system failures more rapidly by simply selecting any point-in-time backup to restore and skipping the OS re-installation step.

Concurrent with the announcement that it is using R1Soft CDP, Reliam has announced that it is a member of the R1Soft Hosting Partner Program. Membership gives the company special volume discounting and access to a large collection of marketing and sales resources, among other exclusive benefits.

“We are thrilled to have Reliam join the Hosting Partner Program. Adding Continuous Data Protection to enhance the scope of its backup services demonstrates Reliam’s commitment to ensuring the availability of clients’ mission-critical data,” R1Soft vice president David Wartell said in a statement. Wartell recently spoke at Web hosting industry event, HostingCon, where he presented a variety of backup strategies for protecting data reliably.
