March 27, 2003 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Domain name registration and Web presence services provider Register.com Inc. (Register.com) announced on Wednesday that it will offer its customers the Direct Submit suite of Web site search engine submission services, powered by Position Technologies Inc.

The service will allow Register.com customers to choose from three site submission subscriptions, Inktomi, FAST and Ask Jeeves. Between them, the subscriptions deliver customers’ Web pages to a list of search engines that includes MSN, Overture, Lycos, Ask.com and Excite, among others.

According to Register.com, Inktomi, FAST and Ask Jeeves together reach more than 85 percent of unique Internet users in the United States, serving more than 2.5 billion search queries per month.
