(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider REDPLAID Managed Hosting (www.redplaid.com) announced on Thursday it has successfully completed a SAS 70 Type II Audit.
The audit recently follows its recent announcement that it has been selected as a Network Partner within Microsoft BizSpark, a program designed to assist startup software companies.
The Statement on Auditing Standards is an industry recognized auditing standard developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants for use in assessing the internal controls of a service organization.
Other web hosting providers that recently completed a SAS 70 Type II audit include Host.net and Switch and Data.
Organizations that are applying for a SAS 70 Type II audit must demonstrate adequate controls and safeguards when they host or process data belonging to customers.
Both REDPLAID and its parent company Connectria completed a successful audit, which included all of their data centers and operations.
