October 22, 2003 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Redline Networks (redlinenetworks.com) introduced Redline OverDrive this week, a control environment that allows data centers to tailor the behavior of Web-enabled applications from a single hardware platform. According to Redline, users configure application behavior by defining and enforcing rule-based http and content-processing actions through writing of “if-then” rules. The rules are written using a control language that supports a range of application behaviors.

Redline OverDrive, the company said, gives data centers a platform for addressing the performance, security and scalability issues that plague data centers without disruption of existing infrastructures or deployment of multiple point products.

“Though every data center has its own unique mix of enterprise applications and requirements, data center products up to now have been fixed solutions that could not address custom requirements or evolve to satisfy emerging needs,” said Craig Stouffer, vice president of marketing at Redline. “This has led to unnecessary cost, complexity and performance problems as data centers become web-enabled. With the power of Redline OverDrive adaptive content processing, Redline’s application and web I/O processor platforms drive cost and complexity out of enterprise data centers – regardless of whether the application mix includes PeopleSoft, Siebel or any of the million or more custom apps deployed in the world’s largest enterprises.”

Redline OverDrive is available on Redline’s full line of E|X enterprise application processor and T|X web I/O processor platforms.

Redline OverDrive will be priced at $5,000 beginning in 2004.
