March 17, 2005 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Open source software developer Red Hat, Inc. (redhat.com) announced on Wednesday the headlining speakers for their first annual Red Hat Summit 2005. The conference will be held in New Orleans from June 1-3 and joins various members of the open source community, including community contributors, developers, customers and partners.

The Summit will offer attendees different views and content on building and enabling open source architectures. Matthew Szulik, chairman and CEO will kick off the opening day of the Summit giving his perspective on where the open source is headed in the coming years. Michael Tiemann, vice president of open source affairs and president of OSI, will open the second day of the Summit.

Other featured keynotes include: Martin Fink, vice president of Linux at HP; Richard Wirt, vice president of Intel; senior fellow and general manager of the software and solutions group at Intel; John Buckman, CEO and founder of Magnatune; and Bruce Mau, CEO and founder of Bruce Mau Designs, Inc.

"Some of our speakers will talk specifics: Technologies, architectures, and experiences that are highly relevant to Red Hat users," says Michael Tiemann, vice president of open source affairs at Red Hat.
