January 5, 2005 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- The Red Cross Familylinks Web site has been overwhelmed with high traffic as relatives search for family members following the massive Tsunamis in the Bay of Bengal. The International Committee of the Red Cross familylinks Web site (familylinks.icrc.org/home.nsf/home/webfamilylinks) is a resource that strives to help those separated by conflict or disaster to find information about their loved ones.

Keynote began measuring the site from its Global 35 and US 10 measurement computers around 5 p.m. pacific time last Thursday. The success rate has ranged from 100 percent to as low as 11 percent, while the performance, or response time, has ranged from 3.5 seconds to as high as 42 seconds to reach the page.

Similar embassy sites that aim to relatives search for lost family members are not experiencing any major performance issues. Additionally, Keynote has not seen any major fluctuations in the charitable donation sites it is measuring in terms of performance and availability.
