August 23, 2007 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Complex hosting provider RagingWire Enterprise Solutions (ragingwire.com) announced on Thursday that it has expanded its Sacramento, California data center facility. The new colocation space is available immediately.
RagingWire has added 46,000 square feet of high-density floor space to its already existing California facility and the new phase is engineered to provide 200 watts per square foot edge-to-edge and greater than 1,000 watts per square foot in isolated areas. The company says it’s able to achieve this density through the use of a four foot raised floor, multiple 1,200 ton chillers, 30 foot ceiling height and a patented electrical distribution and management system.
The facility has also added multiple 10 Gigabits per second of tier-one Internet connectivity to support growing client demands for affordable and highly reliable bandwidth solutions.
“RagingWire’s high-density infrastructure matches aggressive IT trends toward server consolidation, virtualization and multi-core architectures which drive compute and power density even higher,” says Yatish Mishra, president and CTO of RagingWire. “RagingWire’s infrastructure allows clients to increase computing capacity, add more equipment in less space, efficiently use rack space and reduce the performance deterioration and downtime risks associated with heat overloads and insufficient cooling capacities.”
